A lot of understanding has evolved since the early days of the COVID-19 global pandemic. DashboardHC is proud to have deployed a robust COVID-19 dashboard to all our clients within weeks of the initial lockdown. Having meaningful data and actionable intelligence requires continual improvement of the entire process to meet those changes.

As part of our service, our clients woke up one morning in April to find a new COVID-19 dashboard in their customized DashboardHC menus. We included overall and facility-level census stats, counts, and percentage rates of cases, symptoms, and diagnoses. There were also trend graphs and facility ranking lists to help management monitor, plan, prepare, and respond appropriately. During the early stages of the pandemic, the highest priority was delivering accurate, actionable insight to our clients' leadership teams.

What About Recoveries?

COVID-19 infection has the potential to lead to serious, persistent, and sometimes deadly illnesses. However, responsive and measured action by leadership, staff, and individuals leads to an increasing rate of recovery for those infected. To maintain situational awareness in dealing with infections in a facility, it's essential to know when populations are also recovering from infections. Many datasets are not reflecting recoveries.

Overstating the numbers of active infected populations can lead to poor decision-making. By auto-resolving active cases, DashboardHC clients' data quality has been improved to accurately reflect the reality of the situation. If your facility trend graphs show an increasing number of active cases, we recommend examining those numbers to see if they also include recovered cases.
